HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 12.
Find out which chapter your teacher is covering tomorrow and read it before going to class:That way you become familiar with what he/she will be teaching and will
be able to target areas that you do not understand so well. Highlight
the explanations of difficult concepts and ask questions when you have
doubts.

HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 11.
Take short breaks while studying For example: 15
minute break every 2 hours. Don't lose your cool if you're stuck. Just
take a break, then refocus on your work and you'll succeed.

HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 10.
Don't put off work for later. Make a daily routine
for yourself, it really works. Keep all of your electronics such as your
phone, iPod and laptop away from you as these cause distraction. When
you come home from school, read through what the teacher had taught in
class that day and practice a few math problems to be right on top.
HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 9.
Study in a constructive way: Study is one of the key
factors at any level of an education. Spending 2 hours a day studying
increases your grades. These two hours however, have to be constructive
study. Remove all distractions; this will include mobile phones,
television, loud/fast-paced music and talkative friends and family
members as to ensure a calm collective environment.

HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 8.
Create mind maps: Use of IMAGINATION can be helpful for understanding hard topics.
-
An imagination helps with revising before any exam or test.

HOW BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS .step 7.
Start to read a little more:
If you are not already a reader, start at your level and work your way to the top. You may not know this, but by reading challenging and difficult
books, you can expand your vocabulary i.e set of words you know.
HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 6.
Take some time to write some problems up, or you could ask someone to write them for you: Just remember, it doesn't hurt to go over what you have learned, also recall that more practice makes perfection.
HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 4.
Avoid distractions in class: Do not distract others and don't be distracted by them.
- If friends are distracting you don't be mean; just tell them you are working and say "another time".
HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN CLASS.step 3.
Pay attention in class:When a teacher is giving a lesson, take notes and if you don't
understand something, raise your hand and ask questions. The more
questions you ask, the smarter you'll get, believe it or not. Taking
notes will help you think and help you understand what is being taught
more.
- The teachers expect you ask questions and form an impression of you from how willing you are to do so.
- Concentrate on staying focused. Keep your eyes on the teacher, keep your ears open, and take notes.

HOW TO BECOME AN EXCELLENT SUDENT IN CLASS.step 2.
Get organized:Staying organized in school is extremely important. If you are
organized, then you are one step ahead in being successful. Keep a
folder for each subject, that means that you put your math papers in
your math folder, your Language Arts papers in your Language Arts
folder, your science papers in your science folder, and so on. To make
this easier, use color codes or label your folders.

ONE LEG MAN BREAKS RECORD ON MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
On Aug. 4, Alexan
Bayanduryan, 34, made the strenuous climb to the summit of Mt. Ararat on one
leg and a pair of crutches as part of an international expedition. Armenian
American Varuzhan Amirhanian from the Pyunic Union for the Disabled joined and
assisted Bayanduryan, whose climb up Mt. Ararat came after three years of
training.
Alexan Bayanduryan,
34, made the strenuous climb to the summit of Mt. Ararat on one leg and a pair
of crutches as part of an international expedition.
In 1993, during the
Artsakh War, Bayanduryan lost his left leg to a mine explosion. A father of
two, he is known to be an active sportsman, participating in a number of
wheelchair marathons, as well as an annual climb to the top of Mt. Aragats
since 1997, organized by Pyunic.
“I was unaware of
the difficulties I might face. The main obstacles came across at an elevation
of 4,200 miles, but then oxygen shortage and headache were easily overcome. My
mission was to climb Ararat in the name of the fallen soldiers-liberators, and I
achieved my goal. Unfortunately, we could not see Armenia from the top because
of the fog,” he said during a press conference.
Bayanduryan is the
first man to climb the mountain on one foot. His next challenge will be to
conquer Mt. Everest. “I must reach the summit of Everest. After a three-year
effort, I managed to climb Ararat. Let’s see how much time I will need to scale
Everest,” he was quoted as saying.
The Pyunic Union for
the Disabled was established in 1988, and currently has 3,000 members. Its
mission has been to protect the rights and legal interests of the disabled; to
support the financial, medical, social, physical, and psychological needs of its
members; and to promote sports for the disabled. Among other projects, the
organization, whose director Hakob Abrahamyan is also president of the Armenian
National Paralympics Committee, supported the two athletes who participated in
the 2010 Paralympics that took place in Vancouver, Canada. The annual climb to
the top of Mt. Aragats, organized by Pyunic, is scheduled to take place on
Sept. 21.
In September 2009,
Erik Weinmayer became the first known blind person to reach the summit of Mt.
Ararat. The first recorded climb to the summit was made by explorer Dr.
Friedrich Parrot, a professor of physics, and educator and poet Khachatur
Abovian in 1829.
About 20 miles south
of the Armenian border, the snow covered Mt. Ararat stands nearly 17,000 feet
tall. It is believed to be the resting place of Noah’s Ark, and is a national
symbol for Armenians worldwide.

HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 9.
Get good grades: The grades are not a nerd thing.
Grades give you something that is cool: A job that will give you the
money to buy cool cars, houses, etc.

HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 8.
Show your dorky side too: College is the place where
it all comes out. Don't be afraid to do something you'll regret doing
since it is "not cool". Who is determining the standards of what is cool
anyway. Everyone has a different perception of what cool is, and there
are many other things that determine cool such as where you live. You
are trying to hard. Relax. Who cares if you like Justin Bieber or watch
Tom and Jerry in your dorm or even listen to Lawrence Welk. If you like
Justin Beiber, don't be afraid to blast it out of your loudspeakers.
College students these days like to be "ironic" anyway.

HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 7.
Don't join too many clubs: Joining too many clubs are
a sign that you are desperate and you just want to fit in too much.
Only join clubs and activities that you are honestly interested in or
related to your major. Don't join a nursing club if you are not
considering nursing.

HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 6.
You don't have to party: Going to parties all the
time is for amateurs. Drinking is a sign that you're not confident and
you need to chug alcohol to make you confident. Really cool people do
not need that booster. Go to a good party once in a while (probably a
relative's wedding dance) but don't make it a lifestyle. Unless that's
your thing, then do your thing.
HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 5.
Dress in stylish clothes: You don't have to be Paris
Hilton or Kim Kardashian to look cool, or you don't have to dress like
you have just come out of bed, since some college students do. I seen
some come to school in pajamas. For guys, a nice button down shirt, t
shirt, polo, or sweatshirt with jeans or shorts will do the trick.
Hoodies are great too. For girls, a cute top with a nice looking
hairstyle, modest makeup, and the like will do it as well. Try to dress
according to your climate and your location as well. Many college
students once they have declared their major start to dress similar to
the way they will be at work, e.g. business casual for business majors,
more artsy clothing for art majors, especially when doing internships,
etc. Many will be wearing work clothes in college especially if they
have a job after classes. Some majors will require you to wear a uniform
such as scrubs for nursing or dental majors, cop outfits for law
enforcement, etc. There are girls that are wearing dresses and skirts to
school lately, so if you have a nice attractive looking dress, don't be
afraid to wear it.
HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 4.
Have a good sense of humor: Don't tell dumb jokes. Be witty. Look up funny stuff on the Internet or watch funny TV shows or movies to get ideas.
HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 3.
Be friendly: Try to make small talk with everyone.
Make it an effort to talk to someone or help someone that you don't
normally do each day. Don't be a stick in a mud. Try to talk about stuff
such as weather, sports, classes, college life, travel, hobbies, plans
for the weekend or vacation, movies, music, and favorite TV shows. Keep
up to date with the latest celebrity gossip, news, and sports so you
always have something to talk about. The weather does get very boring.

HO TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 2.
Be kind: Open doors to people, offer some help
carrying books, offer some help with homework, help a person find there
way around the college. Niceness is what does it.

HOW TO LOOK COOL IN HIGH INSTITUTION/COLLEGE.step 1.
Don't put on a front: People can tell you are a fake
right away. You have to be the real deal so be who you are and be proud
of who you are. Think about how cool some of the things about you are.
Most people have outgrown their high school persona by the time they are
in college. If you haven't, there is a lot of growing up you need to
do. College is a time to learn more about yourself and by the time you
get your major established, be proud of what you are going into because
that might be your adult identity and career.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 14.
Put yourself in the characters' shoes: What would you
have done if you were Juliet? Would you have liked Holden Caulfield if
he was in your class? What would it have been like to be married to
Odysseus? Talk about it with others who have read the same book. How do
different people answer the same question? Learning to put yourself into
the reading and interact with the text is a good way of experiencing it
and understanding it. Think yourself into the book.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 13.
Mark important pages with post-it notes: If you have a
question later, it can help if you've got the page you want to talk
about or ask a question about marked already, rather than having to
spend ten minutes trying to remember where Polonius' big line was.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 12.
Think of open-ended questions to explore the reading:
Write down some questions in your notebook that might make interesting
discussion questions to bring up in class. Some teachers will make this
an assignment, but it will help you to engage with your reading anyway.
- Don't ask questions that can be answered with a "yes" or a "no."
Learning to ask "how" is a helpful way of coming up with big discussion
questions.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 11.
Get together with friends or classmates and discuss the reading:
It's not cheating to discuss what you've read about before or after
class. In fact, most teachers would probably be thrilled. Get your
classmates reactions and compare them to your own. Again, try not to
talk about whether or not it was "boring," but see if anyone has a good
explanation of something you might've found difficult or confusing.
Offer your own reading expertise to help your friends.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 10.
Write your reaction: When you finish reading,
immediately start writing down your reactions to the story, the book, or
the chapter from the book you needed to read. Write about what seems
important, what you think the purpose of the writing was, and how it
made you feel as a reader. You don't need to summarize it for a
response, but you might find it helpful to summarize in general if it
will help you remember what you've read more.
- Don't write whether or not you liked the story, or whether you
thought it was "boring." Instead, focus on how it made you feel. Your
first response might be, "I didn't like this story, because Juliet dies
at the end," but think about why you feel that way. Why would it have
been better if she had lived? Would it have? What might Shakespeare have
been trying to say? Why did he kill her off? This is a much more
interesting reaction now.
HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 9.
Write down questions that you have about what you read:
If you find something confusing, or you notice something that's giving
you difficulty, always write it down. This might give you a good
question to ask later in class, or give you something to think more
about as you continue reading.
HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 8.
Write a few sentences of summary at the bottom of each page:
If you're reading something difficult and find yourself often wanting
to go back to get something you missed, start taking it one page at a
time. At the end of each page, or even at the end of each paragraph,
write a brief summary of what happened on that page. This'll break up
the reading and allow you to go through it with much more careful
attention.

HOW TO UNDERSSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 7.
Mark up the text: Write questions in the margin,
underline things you think are interesting, highlight important concepts
or ideas. Don't be afraid to make lots of marks on your text as you
read. Some readers find that holding a pencil or highlighter makes them a
more active reader, giving them something to "do" while doing the task.
See if it works for you.
- Don't underline or highlight too much, and definitely don't
highlight random passages because you think it's expected. It won't help
you to go back through and study if you've just highlighted randomly,
and it'll make your text a lot more difficult to go back through.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.step 6.
Take breaks. Make sure you save enough time to do
your reading so you can complete it comfortably and take frequent
breaks. For every 45 minutes of reading you do, let yourself relax for
15 or do some other kind of homework, to give your mind a rest and let
yourself focus on other things for a while. When you're ready, come back
fresh and excited to get back to the story.
